Welcome to the city of temples! Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our airport representative will be waiting at the arrival terminal to warmly greet you. You will be escorted to a private vehicle and transferred directly to your hotel. After checking in, the rest of the day is entirely yours to rest, shake off any jet lag, or take a casual stroll through the vibrant local streets.

After a hearty breakfast, your guide will meet you for a full-day cultural tour of the Kathmandu Valley's most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You will marvel at the ancient architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square, witness sacred Hindu rituals at the holy Pashupatinath Temple along the Bagmati River, and soak in the spiritual ambience of the massive Boudhanath Stupa. Wrap up the day enjoying panoramic valley views from the hilltop Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple).

(Note: An optional morning Everest Mountain Flight is available today for those wishing to see the Himalayas from above)

Leave the bustling capital behind as you board a comfortable luxury tourist bus bound for the lush lowlands of southern Nepal. The highway winds alongside the scenic Trishuli River, offering views of terraced farms, small rural villages, and green hillsides. As you descend into the flat Terai plains, the landscape changes dramatically. Upon arriving at your resort in Chitwan, you will receive a briefing on the upcoming jungle activities, followed by a relaxed evening walk and a traditional Tharu cultural dance performance.

Dedicate your day to discovering the rich biodiversity of Chitwan National Park, a pristine sanctuary for rare wildlife. Your jungle adventure includes a peaceful dugout canoe ride along the Rapti River to spot crocodiles and exotic birds, followed by a visit to a local elephant breeding centre.

In the late afternoon, embark on a deep-jungle safari by jeep or foot to track majestic one-horned rhinoceroses, wild boars, deer, and, if fortune favours you, the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.

Board the luxury tourist bus once more for a smooth journey across the flat Terai plains to Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha. After checking into your hotel and freshening up, head out for an afternoon exploration of the sacred birthplace. Walk through the tranquil Maya Devi Gardens, stand next to the historic Ashoka Pillar, and view the exact marker where Buddha was born. You will also have time to admire the stunning monasteries built by various Buddhist nations from around the world.

Today’s drive takes you northward towards Pokhara, the tourism capital of Nepal. As the luxury tourist bus climbs back up into the hills, you will navigate winding roads flanked by rushing rivers and deep gorges. As you approach the Pokhara valley, the dramatic, jagged peaks of the Annapurna range and Mount Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) will begin to appear on the horizon. Upon arrival, check into your lakeside hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening walking along the shores of Phewa Lake.

Wake up early to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the mountains from the Sarangkot viewpoint (optional). After breakfast, spend the day exploring Pokhara's natural wonders. Visit the roaring Davis Falls, where a waterfall plunges into a deep underground tunnel, and explore the mystical Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave right across the street. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride across Phewa Lake to visit the Tal Barahi Temple situated on an island, and end your day exploring the Tibetan Refugee Camp or the International Mountain Museum.

Bid farewell to the mountains as you board the luxury tourist bus for your return trip to Kathmandu. The journey retraces the scenic Prithvi Highway, offering one last look at the energetic riverside towns, hanging suspension bridges, and everyday rural life of Nepal. After arriving back in Kathmandu by late afternoon, check back into your hotel and enjoy a free evening to relax or pamper yourself after the long road journey.

Spend your final full day exploring the two other historic kingdoms of the valley. First, visit Patan Durbar Square, renowned for its exquisite metal statues, fine arts, and the beautiful Krishna Temple. Next, drive to the medieval city of Bhaktapur, known as the "City of Devotees." Wander through its cobblestone streets, marvel at the 55-Window Palace and Nyatapola Temple, and watch traditional artisans at work in Pottery Square. The evening is yours for last-minute souvenir shopping in Thamel.

Your memorable overland journey through Nepal comes to an end today. Enjoy your final breakfast at the hotel and take care of any last-minute packing. Depending on your international flight schedule, our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport in plenty of time for your flight home.
