Langtang Valley Trekking is a short and wonderful Himalayan trekking trip. This sublime trekking tour in the Langtang region of the Himalayas gets people closer to the culture, spirituality, and natural marvels of the region.

Langtang was one of the badly affected regions by the devastating earthquake in 2015. Several infrastructures were destroyed and life was extremely difficult and the trekking route was closed right after the earthquake hit the country. But after a detailed survey of the region and the establishment of infrastructure, the region is declared safe to visit and open for trekking. The post-earthquake Langtang trekking will be a heartfelt experience as people are still recovering back from the devastating trauma and are resiliently rebuilding their houses in the villages. Going on a Langtang trekking trip now helps directly to the local people to come out of the disaster effects when you will be safely experiencing the trekking wonders.

The Langtang Valley trekking brings a chance to experience climate, terrain, flora, and fauna of sub-tropical to alpine in nature. The cultural wonders of ethnic Tamang people, Buddhist spiritual practices, and Himalayan views are the highlights of the trekking Langtang region.

Langtang Valley trek provides a chance to explore the Langtang valley which is aptly called “The Valley of Glaciers”. The typical Sherpa villages and ethnic Tamang villages of this region offer a diverse cultural flavor with various rituals and traditions. Langtang valley lies in the Langtang National Park, the second-largest national park in Nepal. This protected area has diverse flora and fauna. The national bird of Nepal- Danphe (Pheasant) can also be spotted in this area.

Join us on this trekking journey to the spectacular Langtang Valley, which is a true hidden gem, and get the opportunity to explore an unspoiled valley that features a mix of Himalayan and ancient Buddhist culture.

NOTE:It is recommended that you should arrive in Kathmandu a day earlier before you start your trek (if you do not have a day tour of Kathmandu scheduled). And If you have scheduled a Kathmandu day tour you should arrive two days prior to the actual day of trekking.

If you are able to arrive a day earlier, it will be best for you as you will get some time to rest, know about the trekking you are doing, get info about the trekking routes, and get time to buy trekking equipment if necessary. Adding some extra days besides actual trekking days will help you enjoy your trip to Nepal to the fullest without having to worry about any preparations, flight delays, and missing international flights.

In accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome to you in our beautiful country for the beautiful trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to drop you off at our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure, you will be on your own and you can do whatever you want to do for refreshment. But we definitely will be happy to guide you around the city.

On the second day of arrival, we will be interacting with each other. After early breakfast, every guest needs to arrive at the Company to review their trip so that they can buy and manage the required stuff for their trips. After talking about the trip we will be taking our guests for a cultural sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. The destination for sightseeing includes Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.

We will leave Kathmandu today on an overland journey to Syabrubesi in the morning. The highway runs winding past several rural towns and heads towards Trishuli Bazar. After a break in Trishuli Bazar, our road trip heads towards Syabrubesi, the destination for today.

The road trip today brings us an insight into the rural lifestyle in Nepal. The drive along the beautiful Trishuli River gives an idea of the richness of Nepal in natural resources. Fertile farmland on the river plateau, terraced fields, and roadside towns are apt examples to give some glimpses of Nepalese countryside life.

After having breakfast, we will be checking and questioning our clients if they have any problems with their physical state. After finishing up with our packing and stuff, we will set off on an exciting trekking journey today from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel. We cover the elevation of about 1,000 meters on the very first day of our trek in the Langtang region. The walk introduces us to the mountain cultures of the region and the amazing views and landscapes that heighten our excitement about the following trekking days. Although the name, of our destination today, sounds like the name of a hotel, it’s the name of an overnight place on the Langtang Valley trekking route. Lama Hotel serves as an ideal location to spend overnight after a full day of trekking journey on the mountain trail.

We will gain another significant elevation level today when we trek to Langtang valley today. Before the devastating earthquake in 2015, trekkers used to stay in the Langtang village itself. But as the village was swept away in a landslide during the earthquake, the settlement has been shifted to a new and safe place.

The walk will bring lots of cultural and spiritual experiences in addition to the natural marvels. Buddhist prayer flags, Mani walls, and shortens along the trail significantly signal the dominance of Buddhist culture in the region. It’s a beautiful day full of fascinating encounters along the trail.

The trek on this day will take us further higher up to Kaynjing Gompa. The beautiful day trek reveals some nonpareil sights to us along the trail. The influence of Buddhism and ethnic culture clearly sets the region apart from the lower region that we traveled through. When we reach Kyanjing Gompa for our overnight stay, we can explore an ancient and beautiful Buddhist monastery, the Kyanjing Gompa. The monastery is one of the most important spiritual sites in the Langtang region.

We will set off on an early morning hike to Kyanjing RI at the elevation of 4,350 meters above sea level. This elevation will put us at the highest altitude of our trek. Kyanjing RI offers a spectacular sight of the panoramic Langtang range. We enjoy the breathtaking view of mountain peaks and beautiful sunrise and hike down back towards Lama Hotel. It’s a long day walk today adding the early morning Kyanjing RI hike to the walk to Lama Hotel.

It’s the last day of the trekking portion of this trip. We will trek back down to Syabrubesi today to end the trek. As we will walk back down on the same trail that we took on the way up, we will see the wonders of the place from a different angle and perspective and also will have a chance to get closer to the cultural riches of the place. Once we are in Syabrubesi, we will have time to explore this beautiful, small town for the rest of the day as we are staying there overnight.

We will take a bus ride back to Kathmandu on the same highway. About 7 hours of bus journey brings us to the chaotic civilization of Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, we spend leisurely time back in the chaos of the city after so many days of serene mountain air and incredible adventure.

On the last day of this trip, we drive you to the airport as per your flight schedule back to home or onward destination.

We definitely hope that you enjoyed the Langtang Valley Trek and hope to see you for another adventure soon.

Although the Himalayan region of Nepal is the most popular trekking destination in the world; there are a lot of things people don’t have a clue. While trekking to the high mountain region, you will not find the hotels and accommodation as you see in the city areas. The hotels and accommodation around the high Himalayan have fewer services and facilities. The hot shower may turn out to be simply a bucket of lukewarm water and the toilet may be a latrine behind the hotel. The private room can be a wooden cell with no furniture except a bed, mattress, and curtain in place of the door.  So, while trekking to the mountainous region of Nepal, you need to be ready to stay in the less fancy and minimum facilitated hotels.

We provide you with the 2 to 3-star standard hotel while you are at Kathmandu (i.e. for 3 Nights). We send the porters ahead of us to pre-book the room for the next day (rooms cannot be pre-booked on all places).

In Kathmandu beside the 2 / 3 stars hotel, some 4 / 5 - star luxury accommodation is also available. If you want to change the accommodation plan to the luxury, please do let us know so that we can arrange and book the hotel for you for your Kathmandu stay.
