  • Ever-Changing Landscapes: Hike through a beautiful mix of green farming terraces, bamboo jungles, alpine fields, and giant glaciers.

  • 360° Mountain Amphitheatre: Stand directly inside Annapurna Base Camp, completely surrounded by a towering circle of giant, snowy peaks.

  • Natural Hot Springs: Finish your adventure by relaxing and soothing your tired muscles in the riverside thermal pools at Jhinu Danda.

For travellers with limited vacation time, this streamlined itinerary offers a direct gateway into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. By managing your arrival logistics in Kathmandu and providing luxury transit to Pokhara, we minimise travel friction before the footwork begins. However, compressing this trek means embracing a spirited, active pace.

Once on the trail, you will average 5 to 7 hours of daily hiking. Because the itinerary moves efficiently, your body must adapt seamlessly to the changing elevations. This route trades the leisurely rest days of standard two-week treks for a focused, exhilarating push to high altitude. It is designed specifically for those who thrive on physical challenges and want to experience the majesty of the Himalayas without a massive time commitment.

If you are eager to maximise every single day in Nepal and match your stamina with incredible alpine rewards, this format is perfect. If you prefer a slow, meandering cultural tour, a longer itinerary would suit you better.

What to Expect on the Trail

The Annapurna Sanctuary feels like a hidden world. You are walking along the narrow valley floor of the Modi Khola river, with towering rock faces gradually closing in around you as you ascend. By the time you reach the upper trail, you are flanked by massive walls of snow and ice exceeding 7,000 meters. The sacred peak of Machhapuchhre (6,993m)—forever closed to climbers—guards the entrance, ensuring the valley preserves a quiet, pristine atmosphere. The path weaves through rich forests that thin out into alpine meadows before opening up into a spectacular, enclosed mountain bowl at 4,130 meters.

Welcome to Nepal! When you land at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu, our team will meet you right outside the terminal. We will transfer you to your 3-star hotel via a comfortable private vehicle. Spend the rest of the day resting, shaking off your flight, or taking a casual walk through the colourful local streets of Thamel.

Start your morning with a delicious breakfast before heading out on a guided tour of Kathmandu’s most famous historic landmarks. You will visit the sacred and massive Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, you will meet your trekking guide at the hotel for a quick briefing, gear check, and to collect your official park permits.

Early this morning, board a luxury tourist bus for a smooth, scenic drive to Pokhara. The 6-to-7-hour journey travels along the Prithvi Highway, offering beautiful views of rushing rivers, green terraced farms, and charming hillside villages. Once you arrive in the lakeside city of Pokhara, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening by the water.

After an early breakfast, meet your guide and take a 3-hour drive from Pokhara to the trailhead at Jhinu Danda. Your trekking journey officially begins here! Walk across a spectacular long suspension bridge and hike up to Chhomrong village for a warm lunch. Afterwards, the trail drops down stone steps and climbs back up through lush forests along the Modi Khola river, ending your day at a cosy mountain lodge in Sinuwa.

Today’s trail takes you deeper into the valley through thick bamboo, oak, and rhododendron forests. You will stop for lunch at the small village of Himalaya before climbing steadily into open alpine landscapes. Pass the famous Hinku Cave and make a final afternoon push to Deurali. The air gets noticeably colder here, and your guide will run a quick safety check with a pulse oximeter in the evening.

Walk alongside the riverbed on a gentle, scenic trail up to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m) for an early lunch right beneath the majestic peak of Fishtail Mountain. From here, a smooth 2-hour walk leads you directly onto the floor of the incredible Annapurna Sanctuary. Check into your lodge at 4,130 meters and watch a breathtaking sunset paint the 360-degree wall of snowy mountains around you.

Wake up early to catch a legendary Himalayan sunrise over the massive face of Annapurna I. After a hearty breakfast, begin your journey back down the mountain corridor. The descent is quick and gives your lungs a welcome break, though using trekking poles is highly recommended to cushion your knees. End your day relaxing in the warmer, sheltered forest surroundings of Bamboo Village.

Retrace your steps back through Chhomrong and walk down to Jhinu Danda (about 3 hours). Head down to the natural riverside hot springs to enjoy a long, relaxing soak in the 40°C thermal waters—the perfect reward for your physical achievement. After your soak, board your private vehicle for a smooth 1.5-hour drive back to Pokhara, where your travel program concludes safely.
