On this Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour, you will be visiting Lumbini - the birthplace of Buddha as well as many Buddhist heritage sites including Boudhanath, Swoyambhunath (Monkey Temple), Namo Buddha, Pharping, and Kopan Gumba. The trip begins with an exploration tour to Swoyambhunath, Buddha Park, and Kapan Gumba (Monastery) before visiting the Bouddhanath Stupa. Boudhanath is the largest stupa, visited by pilgrims all around the globe. You can see the pilgrims circulating around the stupa with great devotion. You will be participating in the ritual ceremonies being organized in the different monasteries in Bouddha. On the second day of our tour, we will visit some of the historical places of Kathmandu.

Our tour begins with exploring Patan City and moves forward to Mahabouddha Temple, Ratomacchindra Temple, and reach Bhaktapur to explore the ancient Newari civilization. After Kathmandu, we will have a scenic drive to Pokhara along the Prithivi highway. In Pokhara, we will visit World Peace Pagoda, Tibetan refugee camp, Davis Fall, Gupteswor Manadev Cave, International Mountain Museum Taal Barahi Temple, etc. Finishing up with Pokhara, the tour will take us to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, and a symbol of peace. Here in Pokhara, we will stroll around the holy garden where Buddha was born, a sacred pond where the mother of Buddha took bath, the Ashok pillar, and finally visit the Maya Devi temple for the evening prayer. After Pokhara, we will drive to Pharping via Kathmandu where we explore the Padmasambhab statue, Asura cave, and Guru Rimpoche Cave. A drive from Pharping to Kathmandu will bring our tour to its conclusion.

There are several other historical sites like Sarnath – where Buddha gave his first teaching, Bodhgaya where Buddha was enlightened, and Kushinagar where Buddha breathed his last breath on this world. In accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome in our beautiful country for a spiritual trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to transfer you to our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure on your own to relax the jetlag. But we definitely help you with the information to go around in case you’d like to do so.

Waking up early, we will have breakfast and commence our pilgrimage tour with a visit to Swoyambhunath also known as Monkey Temple. Located at the top of the Hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, this place is the sacred place of Buddhist pilgrims. As the legend says, this place was discovered by Manjushree. The painted eye of the stupa at the top symbolizes the center of Buddhist learning. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy the eagle-eye view of the Kathmandu valley. On a clear day, you can also enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayas. 

After Swoyambhu, we will visit the Bouddhanath Stupa. Located 8 km away from Kathmandu, Bouddhanath is the largest Buddhist stupa in the world. Pilgrims from all around the globe visit this place in search of inner peace. You can see 108 images of Buddha and 147 insets containing prayer wheels.

We will participate in the prayer ritual in Boudhhanat stupa and afterward, we will be visiting Kapan Gumba (Monastery). Located 3 KM away from Bouddha, this monastery was established by the FPMT (The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition) founders, Lamas Thubten Yeshe, and Lama Zopa Rinpoche in 1970 as a center of Buddhist learning.  

In a bid to know the ancient cultural and historical heritage of the medieval city of Kathmandu we shall today go sightseeing around the heritages. After breakfast in the hotel, we will head to a southern suburb of Kathmandu, Patan. Most locals often refer to this place by its original Sanskrit name Lalitpur which means “City of Beauty” or by the name Yala in Newari.

Patan best known for its artistic heritage; is one of the overwhelming cities full of ancient monasteries, temples, and other monuments, some of which have existed for centuries. Reaching here we take time to explore Patan Durbar Square -a marvel of Newar architecture. We will also visit the Mahabouddha Temple. Build-in Hindu Shikhar style, this shrine takes its name from the hundreds of terracotta tiles that cover it, each bearing an image of the Buddha. Similarly, we also have a short tour around Ratomachindranath Temple.

After exploring Patan, we will drive to the east corner of Kathmandu to explore the city of temples, Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is the largest Newa kingdom that is still untouched. This city is the home of traditional art, architecture, craftsmanship, rich local customs, culture, religion, festivals, musical mysticism, and so on. 

Early in the morning, we will have a scenic drive through Prithvi highway for our next destination Pokhara. The scenic lake city in western Nepal, Pokhara, is reached through twisting roads of highway with the scenic landscape, waterfalls and fast-flowing rivers and rural settlements.

Looked over by the snowcapped Himalayas from far away and by the lush and rolling hills from nearby, our journey takes us past interesting settlements and is welcomed first by the unique Fishtail Mountain as we reach the vicinity of Pokhara. You shall be transferred to the hotel at the favorite tourist hub of Lake Side.

After some rest wander around the pristine and gorgeous Fewa Lake and experience the Nepalese flavor of modernity in the surrounding areas that embrace tradition and modernity with equal favor. Overnight in Pokhara.  

Our day starts very early in the morning. We set our wake-up alarm at the fixed time and get ready for a drive to Sarangkot hill to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna range. We reach Sarangkot after about half an hour of drive to enjoy a close-up, panoramic view of the mountain peaks in the Annapurna range. When the sun rises and pours its rays over the mountains, they look overwhelming.

We drive back to the hotel for breakfast after sunrise. We go for another sightseeing tour after breakfast. We go to visit Davis falls, Gupteshwor cave, and a Tibetan refugee camp. We will also visit the World Peace pagoda situated right above Phewa Lake. This beautiful host the bewitching view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs along with the beautiful peak of Machhapuchhre (6997m).

We return back to Pokhara and take an easy time on our own.

Leaving the beautiful city of Lakes, we will head towards Lumbini. When we reach Lumbini, we go to explore the birthplace of Buddha and pay homage to him. We visit Mayadevi temple and Pushkarini, the sacred pond where Mayadevi took a bath before giving birth to Siddharth Gautam and Siddhartha himself got his firth bath on the pond. We pray and meditate on the temple premises then walk up to World Peace Flame to pray and return back to the hotel.

We take a full-day spiritual tour of Lumbini. Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we will take time to explore Maya Devi Temple, Asoka Pillar, the holy garden where Buddha steps his foot, Puskarani Pond, and Lumbini Museum. Visiting and praying in several different monasteries in the birthplace of Buddha heightens our spiritual faith. Afterward, we will drive to Tilurakot, the kingdom of Lord Buddha, where Siddhartha Gautama spent the first 29 years of his life as a prize. A full-day exploration of the sacred birthplace of Buddha will give us high spiritual energy.

After enlightening our body and soul in the birthplace of Lord Buddha, we will drive back to Kathmandu via a picturesque highway filled with lush forest, a guzzling river of Trishuli, and small settlements. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, we will drive directly towards Pharping. Pharping is a thriving ancient Newari city whose ancient Buddhist pilgrimage sites have been taken over by large numbers of Tibetans.

Waking up with the melody of birds singing the words, we have breakfast and begin our day with a tour of Asura cave and Yanglesho cave, both blessed by Guru Padmasambhava. We also visit the Pharping monastery, Parphing Bhajrayogini temple, and the surrounding area covered by prayer flags.

After Pharping, we drive to Namo Buddha for spiritual enlightenment. This is one of the important Buddhist pilgrimage sites visited by thousands of pilgrims all around the globe. Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery better known as Namo Buddha Monastery has such a beautiful ambiance and spiritual vibrations that we spend a whole day visiting the temple, meditating, and exploring the monastery.  

We will spend a full day exploring the monastery of Namo Buddha. Inside the stupa, you can find the statue of a tigress and Buddha, who let himself be fed by the tigress and hungry cubs. We will also visit Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, situated beside the stupa where monks learn Buddhism.  After a full day of Exploration around the monastery, we will drive to Kathmandu.
