Here, in Lhasa, for some days to get acclimatize to the high altitude by visiting well-known and important sites of Drefung-Shera-Jokhaang monasteries with wonderful Potala Palace the landmark of Tibet.

Trek from Ganden to Samye, leads to the most attractive and pleasant walk which involves a steep uphill route. It can be quite energetic because of the high altitude at above 5,000 meters around high passes of Shuga La (5,240m) and Chitu-La (5040m/16,700ft). This trek will head ahead south to reach the first ridge at 4,510m/14,800ft.

Our trip continues along the valley leading up to the first pass, Shuga-la, and after the last village of Hebu. During some moments of the trek, there are few places where you need to cross the rivers and rivulets. The way passes through travelers and shepherd's camp with the hillside scattered with heavily built shelters. Along this place, is the fairy rhododendron, which is a charming and pleasant sight during the summer when it’s in bloom in small bouquets of pink, white and purple.

Through beautiful country and meadows of green carpets, the camp is made where there is a creek nearby on the summer pastures. Before Chitu-la there is a small glacial lake, after they pass the trail follows the creek all the way to the Samey valley through the Yamalung pilgrimage site of the Nyingmapa sect, as you come to the village of Nyango. A good hour of walks brings you to the first great Buddhist Monastery in Tibet. This tour and trek will make a memorable and great time for further days.

We spend a full day in Kathmandu today which will be a necessary acclimatization day as well. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will meet for the trip briefing where we will talk about this amazing trip in detail and answer your questions if you have any.

After the brief meeting is over, we are taking you for an amazing cultural sightseeing tour of heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. The sites we take you for sightseeing today include Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.

Early morning, we will transfer to the airport for a scenic flight to Tibet. This beautiful flight takes us right across the main Himalayan range. Also, it offers magnificent mountain views.

After one hour, landing at Gonggar Airport we will meet our Tibetan guide. Then, we drive for two hours by Landcruiser jeep to Lhasa where we will check in to the Hotel. Here, you can have some food. Also, you can have complete rest and take it easy for the leftovers of the day due to Lhasa's altitude. Overnight at Hotel.

Today and tomorrow, we will have a great time as we have two full days in Lhasa to make the pleasure trip to the following places. Here you can explore the ancient sculpture and the Nepalese people’s living way.

Jokhang Temple - The Jokhang is the foremost and holiest Buddhist temple in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet. It is the major pivot of the dedication of hundreds of Tibetans from near and far who circle it to achieve mystical merit. The Jokhang was first built in the 7th century and has an enormous gold image of Sakyamuni Buddha or Jowo Rinpoche.

Drepung Monastery - Drepung is the biggest and most long-standing simple university in Tibet housing 7000-8000 monks past the Cultural Revolution. Connecting to Drepung Monastery is the Nechung Monastery, the habitation of Tibet's state.

Potala Palace - Potala is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. It is assumed to contain one thousand rooms. This palace is said as one of the spectacles of the world in the early 14th century.

We will also visit the Barkor bazaar situated in Lhasa, an imaginative gathering place for Tibetan merchants.

Today we drive to Ganden, one of the three simple universities in Tibet. Our treks begin at Ganden, bit by bit ascending for some time. Crossing the west side of the ridge from the burden, the track reaches a spur overcame by a cairn, a spring, and then the village of Hebu in two hrs. And from Hebu it takes one hour to reach Ani Pangong, a small monastery. The trail climbs steadily for one hour along with muddy meadows to Yama Do.

Around two hours past Yama Do we will ahead Shug-la pass (5250 m). At least it will take one and half hours from the basin transferring sarsen and clumpy ground through the final steep climb to the pass. We continue over the Shug-la pass following the cairns (human-made piles of stones) trail descending smoothly and reaching the valley in one and half hours from the pass. Next, we will cross the Tsotup the Chu. Nomad herders with their herd of yaks, goats, and sheep can also be found here.

We follow a small tributary from the Tsotup Chu valley for inflowing from the southwest. The track follows suddenly uphill for 30 minutes till you reach the large basin. The territory is not particularly tough to reach Chintu-la pass (5100 m) which is marked by many cairns. A short steep descent will bring you into a basin with three small lakes. The trial at many points is not clearly marked and goes past several season camping sites before it reaches the valley floor.

Today, the trail will be easy to follow and wide, goes along the forest of shrubs and beautiful rhododendrons for 3 hours. The way winds through a series of pastures before reaching Gen Do with a ruined stone structure. The forest disperses swiftly. After leaving Hebu, we reach the first village of Chantan (4020 m). Within 30-40 minutes we will arrive at Yamalung Valley.

We start our overland journey with splendid views across the waters of Yamdrok-Tso Lake to the snowy summit of Nazin Kang SA 7252 m. We carry on westwards over another high pass the Karo La 5045 m. Here, we enjoy the beautiful sight of a huge glacier falling down, within a hundred meters of the road.

After crossing through the beautiful valleys and colorful Tibetan villages we arrive in the town of Gyantse. We also visit the Gyantse Dzong and Gyantse Kumbum. From Dzong, amazing views of both Gyantse itself and the surrounding Nyang Chu Valley, and Kumbum is a large gold-domed stupa with its many small chapels housing a remarkable group of Tibetan Buddhist paintings.

Along the friendship highway, we continue our journey through the Tibetan plateau to Shigatse, a short drive of only 90 km. Sightseeing in Shigatse: Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet. After knowing the local market we will make a complete visit to the Tashilhunpo Monastery. This monastery is one of the large running monasteries in Tibet where you can explore within its high surrounding walls.

Today, en route visit Shakya monastery & Shekar Chode, we continue along the Friendship Highway, marveling once more at the barren yet spectacular landscape of Tibet. Beyond the small town of Lhatse, we cross the highest pass on our journey, the Gyamtso La [5220m]. From here we descend to the plains, passing lonely monasteries and the camps of nomadic herders, en route to Shegar and our overnight accommodation at the Hotel.

Drive from Xegar to Dza Rongbuk Monastery in the morning. The journey involves driving over Pang La (5120m/16,794 ft) which rewards you with the views of several 8 thousand’ like Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Mount Everest. The journey mostly goes through the dirt road, passing through several picturesque villages. Upon arrival, check in a guesthouse or monastery accommodation, and after refreshment; take an hour walk trek to the Everest Base Camp (5200m/17,333ft).

Again we drive to the Friendship Highway and move straight on towards Tingri, a small Tibetan town. Along the Friendship Highway, we carry on. You will pass two high passes Lablung La (5, 124m) and Tong La (5, 120m) and we will have the last stunning view of Mount Everest, Sishapangma, and Cho Oyu. The trial moves to Nyalam-the last Tibetan town where you stop for some time. Again, the way drops through the bank of a river. Upon arrival in Zhangmu-the last Chinese frontier town.
