Panch Pokhari Trek Detailaed Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Kathmandu:
In accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome to you in our beautiful country for the beautiful trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to drop you off in our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure, you will be on your own and you can do whatever you want to do for refreshment. But we will be happy to guide you around the city.
Day 2: Preparation and Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu:
On the second day of arrival, we will be interacting with each other. After early breakfast, every guest needs to arrive at the Company to review their trip so that they can buy and manage the required stuff for their trips. After talking about the trip, we will be taking our guest for a cultural sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. The destination for sightseeing include Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Simpal:
Early in the morning, we will pack equipment and every other thing we have prepared for the Trekking. We will then get in our vehicle with our stuff. We will drive towards Simpal which is also the starting point for our trek and also a small settlement. We will pass via Chautara – it is the headquarter of Sindupalchowk district. We will make a stop here, you can go around the place. You will be able to explore the culture and daily life of the village. Once we are at Simpal we will check in the Lodge/tea House and drop our stuff. You can take a walk around the village. Overnight at Simpal.
Day 4: Trek from Simpal to Kami Kharka:
After waking early we will have our breakfast at the lodge. We will carry all our stuff and will gradually hike towards the Kami Kharka. Most of the hike today will include uphill and steeper climb. We will hike uphill for about 3 hours from Simpal until we reach Thulo Okhareni. Starting here the hike will be difficult, we get into the steeper climb which will last for about four hours. We will hike past through the dense forest of Rhododendron and Pine. we will be able to observe some wild animal such as mountain deer if you are lucky and observant. Once we are at Kami Kharka, we will camp on a summer pasture ground for the overnight.
Day 5: Trek from kami Kharka to Pauwa Bas:
Today’s we will be hiking through a nice and gentle trail, being fairly level (‘Nepali flat’). We will enjoy our forest trails with the fresh aura of nature and wildlife spotting. We will hike for about 5 to 6 hours through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, pine, and juniper. We will notice some nomad’s houses built for cattle on the way. Once we are at Pauwa Bas, we will notice a shelter for pilgrims to Panchpokhari.
Day 6: Trek from Pauwa Bas to Hille Bhanjyang:
Starting early morning we will hike steep uphill for about 3 hours. The steep is difficult so, we will take it easy and take time while climbing those ridges. After 3 hours of an uphill hike now it’s time for us to descend towards our destination Hille Bhanjyang. We will take a break for a short period of time to grasp us breathe and then continue descending along the trail. We will descend past through the dense forest of Rhododendron and Pine We will get some great mountain views on our way down to our camp at Hille Bhanjyang.
Day 7: Trek from Hille Bhanjyang to Panchpokhari:
Today we will hike for about 4 hours. So, we will take it easy on the steep uphill section to start the day, taking about an hour. Then, we will enjoy the gradual descent of about 3 hours through rocky hills and rhododendron forest into camp at Narsim Pati. There is a small rest house for pilgrims on their way to the holy site of Panchpokhari and we have great mountain views from several places. This stunning setting is a secluded pilgrimage site where the Janai Purnima festival is held in August. Many Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit this site each year and we can see two pilgrim houses and the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Day 8: Trek to Panchpokhari top and to Tupi Danda:
This morning we will start with an early hike to catch a stunning glimpse of sunrise over the mountains. We have about one and half hour of an uphill section to the place from where you can see the beautiful sight of the sun rising over the Himalayas and the panoramic view includes Mt. Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range, and Langtang Range. After an incredible start in the morning, we head back down to Panchpokhari to pack up and start heading for home. We have then descend for six hours down some steep trails through the rhododendron forest to Tupi Danda. We will camp at Tupi Danda for the overnight stay.
Day 9: Trek from Tupi Danda to Dhap:
Today we have about 5 hours of walking, 2 of which are quite steep downhill and the rest is quite level as we make our way through terraced fields to the beautiful village of Dhap. Dhap is home to Tamang families and it gives us a great chance to gain some insight into the lives, culture and traditional architecture of Tamang villages.
Day 10: Trek to Melamchi and drive back to Kathmandu:
Today we have about 6 hours of walking. We walk down through terraced fields, along the Indrāvati River. We pass through stunning villages and also see a hydroelectricity project on the way to Tipini and our re-introduction to a road! Melamchi Pul Bazaar which lies at the bank of Melamchi Khola (stream) and Indrāvati River is comparatively a big town for this area. There are some lodges, tea shops, government offices, schools, colleges, post office, and army police camp. Our land cruiser will pick you up from Melamchi Pul and drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 11: Final Departure from Kathmandu:
We will end our journey today after breakfast. A representative of Himalayan Scenery Treks will further assist you with your onward plan and arrangements. We will also transfer you to the Tribhuvan International Airport in a private, 3 Hours before your scheduled flight back to your home or your preferred travel destination.
