Helambu Trek Detailed Itienerary
Day 1: Welcome to Kathmandu:
In accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome to you in our beautiful country for the beautiful trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to drop you off in our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure, you will be on your own and you can do whatever you want to do for refreshment. But we definitely will be happy to guide you around the city.
Day 2: Preparation and Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu:
On the second day of arrival, we will be interacting with each other. After early breakfast, every guest needs to arrive at the Company to review their trip so that they can buy and manage the required stuff for their trips. After talking about the trip we will be taking our guest for a cultural sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. The destination for sightseeing include Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal to Chisapani:
After an early breakfast, we start our journey with an hour drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu. Once we reach Sundarijal we will commence our hike through beautiful waterfalls in Sivapuri watershed and wildlife reserve. Continuing our, we will take an uphill trail until Chisopani where you can see the mountain views and the beautiful sunrise on the Himalaya.
Day 4: Trek from Chisapani to Gul Bhanjyang:
Today’s route includes Pati Bhanjyang an inhabitation of Brahmans and Chhetri’s. The path follows a steeply ascend up to Chipling at (2,170 m). During climbing a staircase you can see many interesting Buddhist Money stones. After a 200 m climb, we will pass at Gul Bhanjyang, which also has Tamang village located and elevated at the height of 2,285 m. We will be staying at Gul Bhanjyang for the overnight.
Day 5: Trek from Gul Bhanjyang to Tharepati:
In order to reach the final stop for the day you need to pass through the Langtang National Park. So, you will be entering the Langtang National Park and climb uphill passing through the juniper, pine and rhododendron forests. Once we cover certain elevation we will notice some snow on our path. The view of snow and rhododendron forest is truly inspiring and beautiful. Today we will be reaching the highest elevation of the trek. As we pass through narrow trail crossing the Mengen Goth village we will reach the Tharepati. From here you can enjoy the stunning view of Gosainkunda and Langtang peaks. We will be staying overnight at a guest house in Tharepati.
Day 6: Trek fromTharepati to Tarke Gyang:
Today trek will lead you towards the Tarke Gyang. Tarke Gyang is the largest village in this region. You can explore the unique culture of peoples. But before reaching the Take Gyang there are a lot of things waiting to be explored. As you descend through the Tharepati along the dense forest you will reach the first village of Helambu i.e. Melamchi guan. You will also get a chance to cross the wooden suspension bridge. You will encounter a small waterfall before getting to Melamchi guan. We then will move forward to Tarke Gyang our final stop for the day. We will be staying overnight in a guest house at Tarke Gyang.
Day 7: Trek from Tarke Gyang to Shermathang:
Today’s trail mostly includes the plains so you don’t have to struggle much for going towards Shermathang. If you are trekking Helambu in time of Spring then you can encounter the most stunning and beautiful view of Rhododendron forest with lots of Rhododendron blooming. Other than that, you will encounter the Mani walls, Chortens everywhere and the view of mountains with these Chortens and Mani wall is super exciting. Today you will also be able to explore the Sherpa village their way of life and their unique culture.
Day 8: Trek from Shermathang to Talamarang :
Our final stop for the day is Talamarang and this place has beautiful landscapes covered by fields. This valley has fertile soil. The valley is covered by crops and vegetables such as paddy, wheat, potatoes, etc. lower land of this region is habituated by Brahmans, Chettri’s and Newars. After crossing a suspension bridge, you will visit Mahankal (1,130 m). we will be staying overnight at a guest house in Talamarang.
Day 9: Trek from Talamarang to Melamchi Bazaar (830 m):
Crossing Talamarang River you will reach Rati Bhanjyang. There is a number of streams, waterfalls, and variety of landscape which will blow your mind. Finally, you come to the large town called Shermathang at (2,620 m), where the Langtang National park office will ask the trekkers for a park entrance permit. If you follow the opposite route, the Shermathang offers a number of places to stay for tourists, more than at Melamchi Bazaar. The bazaar is located at the convergence of the Melamchi and Indravati rivers. You can buy unique things at the bazaar for any memoirs of the Helambu Trip.
Day 10: Drive from Melamchi Bazaar to Kathmandu:
Wake up to the rural hills of the Langtang Region for last time. After finishing up with your breakfast. You will then drive through the winding rough roads to get to the capital city of Kathmandu. We will guide you to the hotel premises and then let the trek come to a stop. You can use your free time in Kathmandu either by roaming or resting at your hotel. Then in evening, we will conduct a small farewell dinner as a token of gratitude for choosing us as your travel companion.
Day 11: See You Again:
On the last day of our trip, representative of Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition will drive you to the airport according to your flight schedule back to home or onward destination.
