Gosaikund Trek Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Kathmandu:
Welcome to Kathmandu – 1,400m: In accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome to you in our beautiful country for the beautiful trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to drop you off in our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure, you will be on your own and you can do whatever you want to do for refreshment. But we definitely will be happy to guide you around the city.
Day 2: Preparation and Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu:
Preparation and Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu – B On the second day of arrival we will be interacting with each other. After early breakfast every guest need to arrive at Company to review about their trip so that they can buy and manage the required stuff for their trips. After talking about the trip we will be taking our guest for cultural sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. The destination for sightseeing include Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche:
We leave Kathmandu today on an overland journey to Dhunche in the morning. The highway runs winding past several rural towns and heads towards Trishuli bazar. The road trip on that day brings us an insight on rural life style in Nepal. The drive along the beautiful Trishuli River gives an idea of richness of Nepal in natural resources. Fertile farmland on the river plateau, terraced fields and roadside towns are apt examples to give some glimpses of Nepalese countryside life.
Day 4: Trek from Dhunche to Thulo Syabru:
From today we will set off on a exciting trekking journey to Gosaikunda. Starting our hike form Dhunche, we hike on slightly uphill trail which goes through Pairo landslide to Thulo Syabru . It is beautiful village inhabited by the people of Tamang community. We can enjoy the views of Langtang range and other spectacular landscapes during our trek today. The trail that meanders through local villages and wooded area is a nice walking experience. When we reach Thulo Syabru after about 5 hours of trail traversing, we can explore this beautiful place.
Day 5: Trek from Thulo Syabru to sing Gompa:
We will start on our ascent again towards Gosainkunda. Almost about 1100 meters of elevation gain will take us to Shin Gompa. Although the elevation gain is high, the walk is comparatively shorter, of about 4 hours. Shin Gompa is an ideal place to stay overnight to acclimatize and rest as we are going higher on the trek to Gosainkunda and crossing a high pass – Lauri Binayak pass.
Day 6: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda:
The walk today to Gosainkunda is a challenging yet beautiful adventure. The uphill challenge with almost 1,000 meters of elevation gain takes us well above 4,000 meters from sea level. The trail that winds through mountains towards the destination brings some breathtaking views of the long Himalayan range including Langtang, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal range. The view gives us energy to walk further ahead despite the tough challenge of the high-altitude trekking.
We will reach Gosainkunda which, is a holy pilgrimage site for the Hindus and has a beautiful sight to behold. The area has a cluster of lakes including the holy Gosainkunda – the third one amongst them. The surrounding has such a beautiful atmosphere, it will make us forget our high-altitude situation and enjoy the view.
Day 7: Trek from Gosaikunda to Sing Gompa:
After spending the night at the divine lake, we retrace our path to Sing Gompa via Lauribinayak. Leaving the Gosaikunda after breakfast, we will start our morning walk with a downhill walk to Lauribinayak. From this village our trail passes through the forest of rhododendron and pine tree and reaches Sing Gompa for the overnight stay. Along the trail we will be able to see incredible vista:s of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, and Manaslu range, Hiunchuli and Tibetan peak.
Day 8: Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche:
Today is the final day of our trekking journey. Hiking our of Sing Gompa village, we head down the trail towards Dhunche. Awe-inspiring mountain vistas, beautiful and peaceful nature and the walk through local villages make our day really wonderful. About five hours of trail wandering takes us eventually to Dhunche to spend overnight there. Once we reach Dhunche we check in into the hotel and we will celebrate our successful trekking journey.
Day 9: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu:
After a morning breakfast at Dhunche, we will take a bus ride back to Kathmandu on the same highway. About 7 hours of bus journey brings us to the chaotic civilization of Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, we spend leisurely time back in the chaos of the city after so many days of serene mountain air and incredible adventure.
Day 10: See You Again:
On the las day of our trip, representative of Himalayan Scenery Treks will drive you to the airport according to you flight schedule back to home or onward destination.
