Ama Dablam Base Cam Trek is one of the most fascinating trek in the Everest region. Ama Dablam means “Mother’s necklace”- the long ridges on each side looks like an arm of mother protecting her child. And the hanging glacier which resembles a “Dablam”, a traditional jewellery containing the pictures of god, worn by Sherpa women. While walking along the trail to the Ama Dablam Base Camp, you will pass through some of the most fascinating Sherpa villages of Khumbu valley. The journey to base of one of the world’s most beautiful mountains begin with a Trans-Himalayan flight to Lukla. Lukla is commonly known as the entry point of the Everest Base Camp. Commencing our trekking adventure, we hike through the forest of rhododendron, pine, fir and pass through several Sherpa villages, until Namche Bazaar elevated at the height of 3436 Meter. Hiking out of the Namche Bazaar, we further enhance towards the Sagarmatha Nation Park where you will encounter wide variety flora and fauna. While hiking through the National Park you will be rewarded with the splendid view of the Everest soaring behind Nuptse, Lhotse, Amadablam, Kangtega and Tawache making a panoramic Himalayan vista until Amadablam Base Camp. Before we fly back to the Kathmandu and to end our exhilarating Amadablam Base Camp trek, we will have a visit to small Sherpa settlement in Khumjung village.
