Short Manaslu Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola:
Before starting our trek we need to reach the starting point. The starting point for Manaslu Circuit trek is Budhi Gandaki. So it will be a long drive along Prithvi Highway along the bank of Trishuli River. We will be getting a glimpse of the rural life of Nepal. Guest can learn about the local lifestyle of people in Soti Khola, a beautiful valley near the bank of Budhi Gandaki. Then, we will be staying overnight in the guest house of Soti Khola.
Day 2: Trek from Soti Khola to Dobhan:
From the fourth day onward we will organize official trekking. We are all set to start on the adventure trekking part of our trip. As the first day of trekking in the Manaslu region, we feel the excitement within us that takes us forward on hours-long walking of the day. The trail will follow Budhi Gandaki River valley with exciting sceneries beautiful sights of village, nature, forests, terraced farmlands, and waterfalls along the trail. We will stay overnight at Dobhan.
Day 3: Trek from Dobhan to Philim:
After finishing our breakfast we will prepare for our second-day trek. We will then follow narrow trail ascending and descending towards Tatopani natural hot spring. After that, we climb over another ridge and cross Budhi Gandaki over a suspension bridge. We then head forward to Tharo Bharyang climbing stone stairs. We go past Khorla Besi village and several other interesting sights that give us some exciting mixture of culture and nature in the region. We will then cross the west bank of the Budhi Gandaki, climbing over a ridge, trekking along the river and then will climb towards the village of Jagat. From here we walk past Salleri and Sirdibas villages before reaching Philim for the overnight stay.
Day 4: Trek from Philim to GHAP/ Tsak:
We start the day after breakfast and trek towards GHAP/Tsak. The trail winds up and down and gives us a thrilling experience of walking. We can enjoy spectacular views of Srigi Himal along the trail. About five hours of walking experience on the third day of trekking adventure brings joyful moments along the trail that will be motivating us to go further along the adventure journey.
Day 5: Trek from GHAP to Lho:
We start the day after breakfast and trek towards Lho. The trail winds up and down and gives us a thrilling experience of walking. Day 6: Trek from Lho to Samagaun:
We relish the breakfast and set off on about five hours of trekking journey for the day. We walk to Samagaun as the destination today. We are trekking in the Nubri valley now that feels highly remote and secluded. Peaceful surrounding, thinning air, sparser settlement and changing landscape and vegetation give us a different experience of trekking than in the lower region. We trek along with wonderful views of the mountains and the surroundings. We will eventually reach Samagaun for our overnight stay.
Day 7: Rest and Acclimatization Day:
We have already reached the point where we need an acclimatizing time. We are doing the same today as we go around Samagaun to explore and acclimatize. We engage the day on a beautiful hike, monastery exploration and soaking in the charm of the surrounding. The view that the day brings is stupendously charming. Mountains and nature give out most of their fascinating wonders to make our day. We stay overnight today at Samagaun.
Day 8: Trek from Samagaun to Dharmasala::
We are traversing the trail to Dharmasala, the base camp to go for high mountain pass called Larke pass. We see a complete change in the landscape as we go higher towards the destination. The walk that takes us almost to 4,500 meters above sea level brings stunning views of Himalayan peaks and high altitude landscape. Dharamshala, also known as Larke Phedi, has breathtaking views to keep us engrossed on so that the increasing altitude is not too much of concern so to spoil the joy of the view.
Day 9: Trek From Dharmasala to Larke Pass and to Bimthang:
We reach the highest point on this trek today. On our walk to Bimthang (3,720 meters), we are going to walk across Larke pass that stands 5,160 meters above sea level. Although the walk up to the pass is strenuous, it is worth going for an as breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayas awaits us there. As the meaning of the name “Larke Pass” means the “Victory Hill”, we really feel victorious on the achievement of crossing the 5,000-meter pass. And the panoramic view of Annapurna II, Namjung Himal, Pang Phuchi, Himlung Himal and the whole mountain stretch makes the day as the highlight for this trip.
Later we descend steeply towards the destination. The path taking down towards Bimthang is a little difficult so we need to step carefully. We eventually reach Bimthang to stay overnight. This day of adventure concludes with a joyful experience.
Day 10: Trek from Bimthang to Tiliche:
After an adventurous day of crossing the Larke pass, we will start the day at ease. Our trek starts after devouring the breakfast and heads towards Tiliche. The trail passes through Sangure Kharka, Dudh Khola and goes towards Gho village. As we trek towards the lower elevation, we see the change in landscape, weather, and vegetation. We are walking down towards the Mashyangdi River valley after walking through beautiful Budhi Gandaki and Nubri valleys. We will spend overnight at Tiliche today.
Day 11: Trek from Tiliche to Dharapani:
On this day we will be ending our trekking part of the trip we will head back towards the Jagat (1,300 meters). It will take about 6 hours for us to reach Jagat. We will encounter more trekkers while trekking back to Jagat. Once we reach Jagat, we can relax our legs that have been walking up and down the trail on the adventurous trek. We stay overnight at Jagat and celebrate the end of trekking part for the trip.
Day 12: Drive from Dharapani to Besisahar:
Today we will be driving to Besisahar located in Lamjung district. The drive will be short but we will be able to explore lots of sceneries while driving to Beshisahar. Here we will explore the royal palace of Lamjung also called Lamjung Durbar. Other than that we will explore many other natural sceneries of Lamjung and Beshisahar. We will be staying overnight at the Hotel.
Day 13: Drive from Besisahar to Kathmandu:
We will set off on a long day drive back to Kathmandu after breakfast having our breakfast. It will be five hours long overland journey through a scenic stretch of the road leading us to Kathmandu. Once we are in Kathmandu, we spend leisurely time back in the chaos of the city after so many days of serene mountain air and incredible adventure.
