Annapurna Circuit Trekking goes around the massive mountain peaks in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. Also known as Round Annapurna trek, Annapurna circuit trek takes adventurers on an adventure journey to the high altitude of the Himalayas.

This challenging trek starts low and goes as high as 5,416 meters above sea level while crossing the Thorong pass. The trekking journey begins in the Marshyangdi valley and goes higher towards Manang valley. The trekking goes on proper trail from Manang onwards until Muktinath. The dirt road connects the trail in other sections of the trek in lower Marshyangdi valley. The trail traversers include the Annapurna circuit trekkers and climbing adventurers to Pisang peak and Chulu peaks (east and west). Some trekkers even make an extended trip to Tilicho Lake, the highest lake in the world nestled beautifully amidst the Himalayan peaks. After crossing the high Himalayan pass at Thorong La, the trek enters a different region, the lower Mustang region with wonderful landscape. Although for a short period, the captivating charm of lower Mustang region fills us with wonders.

Day 01Welcome to Kathmandu – 1,400mIn accordance with your flight schedule, we will be at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu to extend a warm welcome to you in our beautiful country for the beautiful trip. After exchanging warm welcome greetings at the arrival section, we will lead you to our vehicle to transfer you to our trip hotel. It’s a day at complete leisure on your own to relax the jetlag. But we definitely help you with the information to go around in case you’d like to do so.

Day 02Preparation and Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu – BWe spend a full day in Kathmandu today which will be a necessary acclimatization day as well. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will meet for trip briefing where we will talk about this amazing trip in details and answer your questions should you have any. After the brief meeting is over, we are taking you for an amazing cultural sightseeing tour of heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. The sites we take you for the sightseeing today include Swoyambhunath - the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square – to see the temple of Living Goddess and other medieval architectural wonders, Pashupatinath – to immerse into Hindu death rites on the bank of a holy river, and Boudhanath – a massive Buddhist shrine considered as the biggest in the world.

Day 03Kathmandu – Bahundanda 1,310m – B.L.DEarly breakfast prepares us for a long day drive to Bahundanda in Lamjung to start the trek. About 8 hours of long drive sees Nepali highway drive through small towns that show a pure countryside life in Nepal. Although we are yet to see more of the rural and remote Nepal during our trek around the Annapurna circuit, the drive brings us some ideas about the rural Nepalese life style. The drive goes along the Trishuli River and follows Marshyangdi River later. Both the rivers emerge from the Himalayas and flow through the mountains and middle hills. We stop for lunch and other breaks along the way and eventually reach Bahundanda after a long and tiring drive.

Day 04Bahundanda – Chamje 1,430m – B.L.DWe start the adventure trek on the trail that goes around the Annapurna massif. This is the first edirt road that has been constructed up to Manang. We might encounter occasional motorcycles and jeeps along the way. The trek stops at Jagat for lunch and continues towards Chamje. It is fairly an easy day of the trek as we haven’t yet entered the high altitude region. The walk today has less steep going so it feels gentle that is fairly good for the first day of long trekking journey.

Day 05Bagarchhap to Chame (2630 m). A nice camping place and several years ago it was the district Headquarters of Manang. Police check post, school, health post, post office, bank, wireless station are there, with the facility of electricity. On the route the Annapurna (II 7937 m), (IV 7525 m), Ganesh Himal and Manasalu Himal (8156 m) are visible.

Day 06Chame to Pisang (3190 m). A Khampa settlement is known as Bratang now a day’s abandoned. One can find over there a stone memory to a Japanese climber who died in an avalanche. Crossing the Thorong La pass, Pisang peak, Annapurna II and other natural beauties blow one's mind.

Day 07Pisang to Manang (3335 m). During the trek we cross the place, known as Nyseyang (wheat barley). They also grow potatoes and beans. Horses are the means of transportation. Life standard is better at Manang. There is a chance to buy medicines and warm clothes.

Day 08Manang. A day for rest, acclimatization and explore Manang (Side trip). There is a good opportunity to climb the north ridge of the village and have a view of the Annapurna II, IV, Glacier Dome and other excellent scenery.

Day 09Manang to Letdear. Trail crosses a stream, climbs to Tingi and continues to Marsyangdi valley. Yak Kharka and Letdear is next to last shelter before the pass.

Day 10Letdear to Thorang Phedi. A wooden bridge at (3320 m) should be crossed to reach Thorang Phedi (4420 m). Sometime snow can block the pass. In such a situation this place is really crowded. Usually people schedule is 3:00 am to departure, which is not necessary. The ideal departure could be made between 4:00 and 5:00 am.

Day 11Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (3800 m). During the season of December to January there are very few chances to cross Thorang La pass. If porters are not well equipped, they may suffer badly due to the cold and the storm.

Day 12Muktinath to Jomsom (2713 m). Trail descends to Jomsom, this is a nice place from where trek could be shortened by flight back to Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Day 13Jomsom to Kalopani (2580 m). Trek becomes easier as trail follows downwards. But no doubt, natural beauties are unforgettable. You may enjoy along the route the view of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I and so on.

Day 14Kalopani to Tatopani (1680 m). Tatopani means hot water in Nepali. Thus this village gains the name as Tatopani from the hot spring.

Day 15Tatopani. This is a spot with more facilities and there are hotels and guesthouses which offers good accommodation and we can enjoy (swim) in natural hot spring.

Day 16Tatopani to Ghorepani (2775 m). Ghorepani means horse water in Nepal. Along the route you will have a panoramic view of Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, Annapurna south, Annapurna I, Nilgiri, Himalchuli and the Glacier. They all are excellent to be explored. (we can hike up to Poonhill, 3210M best view point of Dhaulagari and Fishtail)

Day 17Ghorepani to Birethani. All the way walking down through the Rhododendron Jungle. (1065 m).

Day 18Birethanti - Pokhara. Half an hour walk and drive back around a hour.
