Fantastic white water rafting and Everest Base Camp trek experience!
The whole experience in Nepal was fantastic and I would highly recommend Himalayan Scenery Treks! After arriving in Kathmandu we had a couple of days white water rafting near Fishling with the fantastic guys at River Fun, who made the rafting experience fun, safe and enjoyable, before enjoying a fantastic fireside party in the evening and spending the night at the River Fun resort. After a second morning of rafting, we made our way back to Kathmandu for a couple of days, including a nice tour of the major temples and attractions in the city, before flying out to Lukla airport to trek to Everest Base Camp. Our trek was led by the amazing Narayan and his assistant Govinda, who were fantastic at making us feel welcome, telling us all we wanted to know about the many villages, mountains and sights we saw, and making sure we were safe and well looked after throughout the whole tre. They were supported by their fantastic team of porters, whose energy and friendliness made the whole trip an amazing experience! The trek itself is truly awe inspiring, taking in the lower Himalayas before acclimatising at Namche and heading deep into the mountains, eventually arriving at Base Camp. It's no exaggeration to say the scenery is world class every step of the way, and the sense of achievement when reaching Base Camp is incredible. It's a tough trek, especially if you're not too experienced, but I feel that most people with a reasonable level of fitness and some training could complete it, and Narayan and his team monitored closely to make sure we were safe to continue trekking each day.I can't recommend this trip highly enough for adventure seekers, avid hikers and anybody who feels they want to experience Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar for themselves! And I highly recommend Narayan, his team and Himalayan Scenery Treks to organise your trek and look after you on the journey. Not only highly professional and experienced, but also some of the loveliest people you could hope to meet! I very much hope to return to Nepal and this part of the Himalayas again in the not too distant future and would have no hesitation in choosing the same people to guide me there!
