From the first contact on the web to the farewell the interaction was friendly, professional and informative. Just after arrival, Ram met with me to discuss the details of my trek and introduce my guide. As a first time trekker I opted for the Everest View trek. The accommodation in the Hotel Access was superb, in the heart of Thamel. The staff are fantastic and the facilities are good.

The weather did not co-operate and only on the third day could we get to Lukla. The first two days were not wasted though. We visited Swyambunath and explored Durbar Square after giving up on the flights.

The trek was perfectly organised and having made it to the Everest View Hotel (3900m) and having incredible views of Everest, Lhotse Amadublam we decided to return to Kathmandu.

The next leg was going to be Poon Hill, but again, the weather was against us with low cloud cover. The itinerary was changed without any problem to a 2 day trek through rural Nepal ending with spending 2 days with Krish's (my guide) family in their home in deep rural Nepal. The experience of being the "first" foreigner was deeply thought provoking and made me reconsider my own principles and values. The highlight of the stay was being able participate in the Hindu "confirmation" of Krish's youngest brother.

The next leg was by land rover to Pokhara and then to Lumbini. Unfortunately, time prevented exploring these in the depth they deserve.

In Kathmandu, the last day was spent exploring Pashupatinath and Boudda Nath Stupa and ended with an excellent traditional meal and culture show.

All in all Ram and his team organized and orchestrated an unforgettable experience that is going to take months to really assimilate. I am already discussing plans with them to get back to Nepal next year!

I can whole-heartedly and unconditionally recommend Himalayan Scenery Treks and Expedition as the contact to explore Nepal
