Everest Base Camp trekking follows the route to the base of the world’s highest mountain peak Everest. Once you hike through all those off-beaten trails and routes you will see the magnificent view of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest, in front of you. Everest Base Camp trekking route passes amidst mountain peaks, cultural villages, glacial rivers, and unexplored and unexploited landscape and vegetation.

Namche Bazar - Trek to Everest Base Camp

The route to Everest base camp follows from Kathmandu to Lukla flight. From Lukla, you will be hiking until you reach base camp, but we will make the stop for the overnight stay at various places. Most routes are the same if you are trekking to Everest base camp, and some are long because they make stops at more places than the normal route. It’s all that you can explore more if you are doing longer base camp trekking.

Here we will explain the normal base camp trekking which takes about 15 days to complete the trekking. But it does not mean that you will hike for all 15 days, three days are just itinerary which involves your arrival, Kathmandu sightseeing, and your drop-off for final departure. The actual Everest Base Camp trekking starts from day three of the itinerary provided in Everest Base Camp Trek.

Camps while trekking to Everest Base Camp

You will fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek to Phakding. The airport in Lukla has considered the most amazing and thrilling airport in Nepal it has the shortest runway. After landing at Lukla Airport you will then trek to Phakding.

Then the Everts base camp trekking route follows towards Namche Bazar from Phakding, the trail to Namche Bazar is truly amazing. Namche Bazar is elevated at 3,440 Meters. From here the route moves towards Tengboche, where you can explore more about Buddhist culture and Tengboche Monastery. The next day we will hike to Dingboche, which is a beautiful settlement where you can see beautiful views of mountain peaks from tea houses.

Then the route takes you to Lobuche from Dingboche. It will be about 5 – 6 Hours of the hike from the Dingboche. You will notice some chanted chortens on your way to Lobuche. Finally, the route will follow through Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp. The route is well-designed letting you experience everything about the lifestyle of the Himalayas People and explore the Himalayas of Nepal.

The route then returns to Gorakshep for the overnight the next day the route will follow towards Kalapatthar - from where you can get the perfect picture of the World's Highest Mountain and then to Pheriche. The route from here is mostly downhill. We will return to Namche from Pheriche the next day and Namche to Lukla on the other day. Then we fly back to Kathmandu.

Lunch Place while trekking to Everest Base Camp

There is various trekking destination in Everest Region, such as Everest Base Camp via Jiri, Everest Base Camp – Cho La Pass – Gokyo Lake trekking, and 14 days Everest Base Camp trek. They all follow the almost same route, but they take you to some more places than normal Everest Base Camp Trek like Gokyo lake, Cho La Pass, and Jiri which are not included in Everest Base Camp Trekking Route. And 14 days Everest base camp just exclude acclimatization day on your itinerary so that you can manage some time.
