Trekking In Dhaulagiri

Dhaulagiri trekking provides massive mountains range of Dhaulagiri consisting of fifteen 7000 meter peaks is magnificent. Trekking of the main paths is not only possible, but can be immensely rewarding, though you do need a sense of adventure and an increased ability to deal with unexpected. Geographically, it is a land of dramatic contrast. Trekking around the giant Himalayan Peak Dhawalagiri (8th highest Himalayan Peaks of the world) is one of the most challenging trekks. The trek goes through big challenging mountain passes, crossing over French pass (5360 meter) and Thapa Pass (5200 meter); It is a challenging walk on an icy track. Trekking in this region means an exploration of the wild. Recently reopened this thrilling region shows its long kept secrets, like the Gandaki Gorge, the deepest Gorge in the world !! Dhaulagiri means "white mountain" though many mountains over the world have names which translate to white mountain, this is without doubt the most astonishing one.

Season : September to late December and February to late June.

Total Days : 21 Days ( Kathmandu - Kathmandu)
Walking Hour : Approximately 6 - 7 hours each day.
Attractions : Dhaulagiri trekking is both technical and highly strenuous. Excellent physical condition is essential and mountaineering experience is preferable. Following rough terrain, they involve steep ascents to high altitudes with the possibility of some rope climbing. Stamina is needed to complete one of these treks.
 

Itinerary in Detail

Day 1 : Drive from Kathmandu to Beni by bus (9 hours driving).

Day 2 : Trek to Babiyachaour.

Day 3 : Trek to Darbang.

Day 4 : Trek to Takum.

Day 5 : Trek to Muri.

Day 6 : Trek to Boghara.

Day 7 : Trek to Doban.

Day 8 : Trek to Italian Base Camp.

Day 9 : Acclimatization day at Italian Base Camp.

Day 10 : Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp.

Day 11 : Trek to Hidden Valley (5000m.) crossing French Pass (5360m.).

Day 12 : Rest day at Hidden Valley.

Day 13 : Trek to Yak Kharka crossing the Thapa Pass (5200m).

Day 14 : Trek down to Tukuche.

Day 15 : Trek to Ghasa.

Day 16 : Trek to Tatopani.

Day 17 : Rest day at Tatopani (Natural hot spring).

Day 18 : Trek to Ghorepani.

Day 19 : Trek to Tikedhunga

Day 20 : Trek to Nayapul (4 hours), then drive to Pokhara.

Day 21 : Drive Pokhara to Kathmandu.
