Kathmandu |

Kathmandu valley, which is
situated at an altitude of 1336MTR above the sea
level and covers an area of 218 Sq. miles, is
the political, commercial and cultural hub of
the Kingdom. The city is famous for its
Archeological and historical sites. Once a
separate kingdom in itself, it contains four
major fabled cities, Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur
and Kiritipur. The skillfully built temples and
palaces, delicately- engraved stones and metal
images, carved wooden columns and pillars and
the history laden shrines and Chaityas (stupas)
of these four historical citiesstand as paradigm
of the artistic achievements. The valley is rich
in places of both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage.
These two religions have been quite brotherly
residing within the kingdom since time
immemorial. |

Patan |
Patan is protected by UNISCO
world heritage site.Patan is the second largest
city in the valley.It is some time referred to
as Lalitpur,which means city of beauty.Patan has
long Buddhist history and the four corners of
the city are marked by stupas.Patans central
Durbar square is absolutely packed with
temples.It an architectural feast with a far
greater concentration of temples per sq metre
than in Kathmandu or Bhaktipur.Numerous othre
temples widely diverse style as well as many
Buddhist monasteries are sacttered around this
fascinating town.The Patan Durbar square is a
concentrated mass of temples,undoubtedly the
most visually stunning display of Newari
architecture to be seen in Nepal.There is alos

Krishna,Bhimsen,Taleju bell,Bhai Dega and others
many temples gives you more experience about
Nepali people faith and respect on religion.All
the temples are decorated by numerous arts and
architecture.The Patan also offers you Newari

The ancient city is located on the southern bank
of the holy Bagmati River and is approximately
five kilometers south-east of the capital. The
whole city is full of Buddhist monuments and
Hindu temples with fine bronze gateways,
marvelous statues, guardian deities and
magnificent carvings including stone carving,
metal carving and wood carving. Well noted for
its gorgeous craftsmen and metal workers, it is
often known as the city of superb artists. The
majority of the citizens follow the Buddhist

Nagrokot |
Nagarkot is a popular tourist
resort of Nepal. It is situated 32 kilometers
east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,175 m
above the sea-level. The panorama of the major
peaks of eastern Nepal Himalayas including
Sagarmatha, (Mt. Everest), can be seen from
here.
Himalayan peaks like Manaslu (8,463 m), Ganesh
Himal (7,111 m), Langtang (7,246 m), Choba
Bhamre (6,016 m), Gaurishanker (7,134 m), and
Numbur (6,957 m), are also clearly seen from

Bhaktapur |
Bhaktapur is the third largest
city in the Kathmandu valley. The city was once
the capital of Nepal during the great Malla
Kingdom from the 12th to the 15th century. Four
square miles of land situated at an altitude of
1,401 meter from sea-level is a home to
Traditional art and architecture, pottery and
weaving industries, rich local customs and
culture, and the every-day life of Bhaktapur
people. All that and more will have you visit
this untouched ancient city more than once!
Nepal's Malla dynasty's achievements in arts and
crafts are reflected throughout the Bhaktapur
city. Bhaktapur is also known by woodcarving
artists, for it's cap known as Bhadgaon Topi,
and for it's curd known by Nepalese as the `Bhaktapur
ko Dahe' (meaning Curd made in Bhaktapur).
Tourists visiting the city also take the time to
relax and observe other interesting happenings
in the city such as children's playing outside
their home and in temple yards, busy and
color-full open markets, women's making
clay-pots, weaving, and sun-drying crops and
vegetable products. Bhaktapur is located at 14
km east of Kathmandu and can be reached by
public transport.

Pokhara |
Pokhara Valley is one of the
most picturesque spots of Nepal. The beauty of
the valley is enhanced by its lovely lakes Phewa,
Begnas, and Rupa, which have their source in the
glacial region of the Annapurna Range of the
Himalayas. Pokhara is situated 200 kilometers
west of Kathmandu and is connected by air as
well or by a five hour bus ride from Kathmandu.
A highway named Prithvi Rajmarga links the lake
district with Kathmandu and another highway
Siddhartha Rajmarga also known as Sunauli
Pokhara Rajmarga links Pokhara with Bhairahawa.
This highway passes along a highly picturesque
region between the midland valleys and the Terai
belt of the Kingdom. Pokhara Valley is situated
at an altitude of 900 meters from the sea-level.
For the mountain viewers Pokhara offers the
magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Himalchuli,
Machhapuchhre, five peaks of Annapurna and
others.

Daman |
Daman by car is about three
hours from Kathmandu and four hours from Hetauda.
It makes a nice day trip from Kathmandu to come
here by car for the day. It costs around $65.
There is one government Sajha Yatayat bus a day
departing to and from Kathmandu. The bus departs
both Daman and Kathmandu at 7 am. There one
government bus at 7 am to Hetauda.
You can also make an excellent bike ride to
here, but it is a really tough ride. See the
Mountain Biking section for details It has some
of the most fantastic views of the Himalaya
views of the Himalayas. It has a great view of
the mountains from Dhaulagiri to Mt Everest.
Daman is halfway between Kathmandu and Hetauda
at 2320m. It is definitely worth visiting.
There is a viewing tower that has a telescope (a
cheap fee). There is not much in this town. On
the side towards Hetauda, there are some
interesting rhododendron forests, which is
especially worth seeing during spring.

Lumbini |
Lumbini-a place in the
South-Western Terai of Nepal, evokes a kind of
holy sentiment to the millions of Buddhists all
over the world-as do the Jerusalem to Christians
and Mecca to Muslims. Lumbini is the place Lord
Buddha -the apostle of peace and the light of
Asia was born in 623 B. C., Located in the flat
plains of south-Western Nepal and the foothills
of Churia range , Lumbini and its surrounding
area is endowed with a rich natural setting of
domesticable fauna and favourable agricultural
environ. Historically, the region is an
exquisite treasure-trove of ancient ruisn and
antiquities, dating back to pre-Christian era.
The site, described as a beautiful garden in the
Buddha? time still retain its legendary charm
and beauty. To the mere 12 miles north of
Lumbini lies the dense and picturesque sal-grove.
